Stories Worth Preserving.
Legacies Worth Remembering.

Preserving the Past. Fostering the Future.

Barnes Legacy Publishing is dedicated to preserving stories, reclaiming histories, and creating works that connect generations. Through thoughtfully researched and intentionally crafted publications, we honor the past while creating something meaningful for those who come next.

Barnes Legacy Publishing was founded to preserve the stories that shape who we are and ensure they are carried forward with care, accuracy, and purpose. We create and publish works that honor family history, document the Black American experience, encourage reflection, and help individuals and families preserve their own legacies for generations to come.

What We Publish

Barnes Legacy Publishing creates meaningful works that preserve history, strengthen identity, encourage reflection, and carry stories forward. Our publications are rooted in the belief that every story preserved becomes part of the legacy we leave behind.

Preserving ancestry, recovering family stories, and documenting the lives and experiences of generations that came before us.

Books and guided resources that encourage reflection, preserve personal stories, and help individuals intentionally shape the legacy they leave behind.

Thoughtful works that help children and families explore identity, history, resilience, life experiences, and the connections between generations.

Barnes Legacy Publishing was born from a belief that the stories shaping our families, communities, and history deserve to be preserved with intention. What began as a personal commitment to uncovering and documenting family history grew into a larger mission: to create meaningful works that reclaim stories, preserve lived experiences, and ensure that what matters today is not lost to future generations.

Founded by author, historian, and genealogist Nneka M. Barnes, Barnes Legacy Publishing brings together decades of research, storytelling, and a deep commitment to legacy. Every publication reflects the belief that preserving the past is not simply about remembering where we have been—it is about giving those who come after us something meaningful to carry forward.
